The nearest valley is in Grand County near the Henderson Mill which extracts
molybdenum & other precious minerals from a deep and fascinating mine under
the Continental Divide to the far left. The valley at the base of the Gore Range is in
Summit County. On the other side of the range is Vail! A favorite drive for locals
is to Ute Pass near the mill from which the Gore Range is truly breathtaking. This
view is from early September with almost no snow and just autumn hues in the tundra.
