Click on photo to continue up to where you break out of the forest.
As you walk up and westward towards Gravel Mountain, ALWAYS
follow the ridgeline near where it drops quickly to your right (north).
In June and July you'll encounter snow in the forest. It has open areas
along the ridgeline. The trail is mostly marked by animals. Downed
trees cross it at random. Wear waterproof footwear. The first rule in
the wilderness is STAY DRY. With children, it will take almost 2 hours
to walk through the gently rising forest to Gravel Mountain.
