Click on photo to continue to around to the right to a small stream ahead.
This is a gentle well maintained trail. It begins near the Timber Creek campground,
on the east side of Hwy. 34 by a paved parking area. It is accessible year round
and just a short ways from where a gate prevents cars from the entering the higher
portions of Trail Ridge Road in the winter. The first ¼ mile of the trail is sloped
slightly downward and runs southward paralleling the main highway. After about 15
minutes you'll cross the stream shown above. The entire trail to Timber Lake is about
4.7 miles and takes about 3 hours (one way) with rest stops.
