This is a short ways below the Grand Ditch. Scroll down to see a huge avalanche path from a generation of trees ago.

Scroll down to cross the Grand Ditch a short ways up to the right and enter a deep forest.
Scroll down to continue to the next opening created by avalanches.
A few feet ahead there is a junction in the trail.
The fork to the right gently continues up to Baker Pass. The other route climbs up rather
quickly to Parika Lake. For a grand loop, one can first go to Baker Pass, and then pick a
contour at about 11,200 feet and journey directly along a high bench to Parika Lake.
One can then descend from Parika Lake rather quickly to this trail junction.
We are at the bottom here of the two mile long valley that gently rises to the right
to Baker Pass. Click on photo to continue up this valley on the backside of Baker Mountain.
