Click on photo to turn to the right (east) and look down from where we
came. The vast plain to the North and more to the left is called North Park.
It's largest town is Walden in Jackson County. Behind us to the south is
Grand County. It used to be called Middle Park, especially in the olden days.
In southern Colorado, west of the Sangre de Cristo Range is a large plain
surrounded by mountains called South Park. Parkview Mountain gets its name
from the commanding view it gives you of the 2 northern Parks of Colorado.
It is the largest mountain in the Rabbit Ears Range separating North Park from
Middle Park. It is a highpoint in the middle of the northern boundary of
Grand County from which one can look southward into the "Island of the Rockies"
and far across to Winter Park at the SE rim and the Gore Range at the SW rim.
