See below for details on how to get here and beyond.

Welcome to the Arapaho National Forest west of Grand Lake.
Portions of this vast territory can be accesses more easily in the wintertime
by snowmobile than on foot or horseback in the summertime. There are
established trails from the Grand Lake Village to here, however,
the best terrain is in the higher elevations. Photo above is from Whiskey Park.
In spite of its curious name, it is a huge open meadow that is ideal
for children to gain their first experience controlling a snowmobile.

The best way to get here in the winter is probably by first trailering your
snowmobile to the Idle Glen Staging area, 3 miles up County Road 4
from Hwy. 34 and Lake Granby. The turn off from Hwy 34 is by the Hwy. 34
Storage Center and Dillie Docks (5-6 miles south of Grand Lake).

Whisky Park is 4-5 miles NORTH of the Idle Glen staging area.
There is a separate route that takes you west to Gravel Mountain.
The northern route connects with the Gravel Mountain route in the deep
back country. You can make a loop. Maps are available in town and
posted at major trail junctures. This is a popular area. There are many
friendly people who are ready to give directions ( and a some fools
who will come charging down the wrong side of the rode, winter or summer).
