We start in the cold of dawn so that we don't get overheated working
the steep switchbacks up the Knight Ridge to the Roaring Fork. This first
section takes about 40 minutes and takes us from our initial elevation of 8280
feet to several hundred feet higher. Click on photo to where we actually cross
the stream, about 30 minutes from here and after climbing almost 1000 feet
above Lake Granby.
