We rest on this precisely carved and warm rock.
This concludes the 2nd Installment. Click on photo
to continue and start the 3rd Installment. Karma decides
to stay here. Passang and I figure that we will be able to
pick out this distinctive rock from a distance (at least with
binoculars) and not lose track of Karma. We continue
up the trough as far as you can see in the right corner.
We would like to find some water. The 17,000 foot elevation
makes us thirsty. We eventually return to Karma via the ridgeline.
The ridgeline from the upper corner to the left descends fast.
The perspective makes it seem otherwise. Starting from
Jangothang at 9:00 am, it takes us 5 hours to reach our most
distant point. The mountains become veiled with clouds,
so it is time to return to camp. For our downhill return,
we pick up the pace and arrive at camp at 5:00 pm.
