The Grand Ditch diverts water to La Poudre Pass and the Great Plains.
It was the first of a many transmountain water diversions that dramatically
reduced the flow of the Colorado River below Granby. If by the USA had
by settled from West to East, instead of East to West, there could have been
diversions from the Front Range side of the Divide to the vast arid lands
along the Colorado River. Just imagine ....
